Columbus, GA – July 24, 2018 – Liberty Utilities announced today it has completed the acquisition of the natural gas distribution system from Manchester Georgia. The Manchester facilities are on the northeastern edge of Liberty’s existing territory. In addition to serving the current customer base, Liberty hopes to expand the system by encouraging Manchester residents to switch from electric and propane energy to natural gas.

“We are very excited to welcome our new customers in Manchester to the Liberty Utilities family,” said Chuck Rossi, President, Liberty Utilities (Georgia). “Our goal is to deliver safe, reliable natural gas service to all of our customers while also actively engaging in the communities we serve.”

The natural gas distribution system in Manchester serves approximately 700 customers in the rural Georgia town of just over 4,000 residents. Liberty’s growth strategy has focused on communities such as Manchester. “Rural Georgia communities are the backbone of our state’s workforce and quality of life, so ensuring these communities have the same energy options as our larger cities is critical to a prosperous Georgia,” said Rossi. “Liberty coming to Manchester is a positive move for our community and we look forward to a long and productive partnership,” said Doug Westberry, Manchester’s City Manager.
