Purchase a KOHLER generator from a Kohler dealer participating in the Liberty Utilities 2020 Natural Gas Standby Generator Program. Purchases must be made between April 15 -December 15, 2020 to qualify.

How do generators work?

  • Prior to power failure
    • After installation, the automatic transfer switch (ATS) works 24/7 to monitor the electricity coming from the utility.
  • When power goes out
    • During an outage, the ATS will signal the generator to start. In seconds, the ATS transfer from utility power to generator power.  
    • Your generator supplies your home or business with electricity until utility power is restored.
  • Power returns
    • Once utility power is restored, the ATS automatically transfers from the generator to the utility for power. The generator shuts down and is on standby for the next power outage.
